Leonidas Kassapides was born in Thessaloniki Greece where he lived until the age of 19. This upbringing laid the groundwork for his culturally rich career and is the reason for his fluency in the Greek and English languages.

Leon used his training from Anatolia College (Thessaloniki, Greece) and Berea College (Berea, KY, USA -- Graduated with a B.A. emphasis on directing) to pursue colorful and exciting achievements in writing, directing, performing, and teaching.

Leon Kassapides has developed skills in clowning, acting, circus; but has focused most on traditional Greek Shadow theater. Leonidas' self-contained creation "The Metamorphosis of Karaghiozis" has been performed 1000's of times for diverse and excited crowds across the world.

Currently, Leon enjoys sharing his expertise, and his love of theater with others. Through workshops, residencies, and classes, he creatively builds programs that highlight the fruits of his experience. Every lesson is lined with wisdom, patience and kassapides' contagious exuberance for the arts.
